Patriots of Charleston
Reservations Required: 1-800-729-3420
Charleston was America's wealthiest colonial city by far, blending great sophistication and festivity with chronic struggles against hostility, weather and disease.

More Revolutionary War battles were fought in South Carolina than in any other state, and the action here amounted to "check" before the ultimate checkmate at Yorktown. Charleston's Henry Laurens was the only American held in the Tower of London during the Revolution, then was exchanged for Lord Cornwallis after his surrender.
